For many years, Chartley Coffee have been authorised distributors of Drury fine teas and coffees. Having started out over 60 years ago in London by two Italian brothers, the Drury Tea and Coffee Company has been run and managed by the same family ever since with the same ethos as when it first began. Quality and service second to none is the aim. Widely renowned for consistently high quality, we have been happily dealing with the family for over 25 years.

Extracting Drury cappuccinos

Much like the espresso coffee machines we supply, it is often very hard to choose which coffee to buy from the huge range of suppliers. We have often found that many customers say it is a market akin to buying good wine at a restaurant! If you are not entirely clued up on the differences between the five grape growing regions within Bordeaux, you can end up choosing based upon other peoples recommendations, rather than your own choice.

How We Operate

There are so many factors which contribute to a good cup of coffee. For example, even the water with which you make the coffee can profoundly effect the taste. London's hard water does not suffer light blends as well as the Midlands' soft water. People selling you a grinder tell you that the grind is the most essential part, people selling you an espresso machine tell you it's the machine, then it's the coffee and then it's the staffs ability to make it if it doesn't taste that great! All are very important, but to help see through the mist this is how we help you decide:

  1. The quality of one suppliers 100% Arabica is very rarely equal to another's. Quality of the actual beans and the processes they go through until they are sealed varies hugely. The teas and coffees we supply are sourced from the best plantations and carefully roasted with state-of-the-art equipment.

  2. Try out our ranges of tea and coffee. A whole range of samples to try, so you can make an informed decision. We're not going to dictate to you what you like or force blends upon you, only give pointers in the right direction.

  3. Choose a blend depending on your customer base, and staffing requirements - some blends are more appropriate than others. Although an extremely refined blend can taste good when made perfectly by the supplier in front of you, it is often not so great when rushed by the lunch crowd, queuing out of the front door!

  4. Use our experience in dealing with all guises of baristas. Coffee shops, sandwich shops, restaurants, mobile carts, hotels, exhibitions, local sole traders or national chains... We strongly doubt that there is a scenario we haven't already encountered. Different businesses of different scales all need individual solutions. We happily treat every case individually with as much care as the other.

  5. Let us show you how good our after sales service is by letting us supply you! All deliveries delivered promptly, no strict minimum orders or contracts, everything under one roof to save processing multiple accounts.

At the risk of sounding old fashioned, we run a personal service. No minimum order frequency or long-term supply contracts, so in the unlikely event you feel we are not up to scratch you can always change your mind. A huge proportion of our customers have been dealing with us since they began their businesses or changed to our coffee many years ago. We enjoy dealing with our current customers day to day, believing that a relaxed but professional approach to doing business not only increases business, but makes an already hectic market a lot less stressful.

What We Offer

Coffee berriesNeedless to say we have a wide range of tea and coffees, but here is a little detail of what we offer:

  •  Espresso - the basis for all espresso machine concoctions, from lattes to cappuccinos. Many stock blends are available.

  •  Filter coffee - for larger outputs of no-fuss, delicate coffee - a variety of blends in pre-sized sachets.

  •  Cafetiere - for a fresh coffee, often ideal for following a meal.

  • Teas - although not our core offering, we do have a large range of fine teas. One cup Earl Grey, English Breakfast, Darjeeling, Assam and catering sized bags are to name but a few.

  • Own Label Coffee - for slightly larger demands, and often chains who wish to maintain a brand, we can supply own label own blend coffees for a highly individual flavour!

The internet is perhaps the worst medium to try and convey the multiple senses tickled by our tea and coffee. If you are interested, contact us so we can chat about what you are interested in and send some samples for you to judge yourself!
